Handmade Birthday Card with a Cute Stamped Owl

Hi Everyone,
I am loving this owl stamp from Woodware, I used it before to make a paper piecing card and this time I stamped and cut out the owl and colored it with Promarker pens. I used a woodgrain embossing folder with white card and then used an inkpod to color the raised areas of the woodgrain with brown ink. A bow and die cut leaves added some decoration and the sentiment was printed on the computer. Oh and I stuck tiny crystals in the eyes to make them sparkly :)

Hand Made Die Cut Butterfly Birthday Card

I have seen a few examples of cards made using paint colour swatches on the internet, so decided to have a go at making my own. The paint swatch cards that I could get hold of have the name of the colour printed on them which means the clean area to cut out is not that big. I used the smallest butterfly from our set of  butterfly die cutters on this card although there would have been room to use the medium one instead. The colour of the top butterfly was very pale so I covered it with Stickles glitter glue to give it a bit more impact against the white background. I used foam pads just on the body area to attach the butterflies to lift them off the page. The sentiment is stamped. I'm very pleased with the way it has turned out - back to the DIY store!

New Baby Girl Card

Hi Everyone
As I sat watching the news coverage yesterday of the birth of the new royal baby girl I started thinking about all the cards and gifts that they will receive, and that made me think about making a new baby card myself! So to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the safe arrival of their daughter here is my card. I won't actually send it to them but it was nice to make it all the same. (It's a bit pinker that it looks in the photo.)

I used a 15 x 15cm blank white card and covered it with two colours of pink card, I used a strip of grosgrain ribbon to cover the join in the card and topped that with some "it's a girl" ribbon tied into a simple bow. I die cut a scalloped and a plain circle of card, stuck them on top of each other and adhered the baby in a pram embellishment to the top, I used foam pads to stick this to the card to lift it over the ribbon and off the page slightly, the greeting is stamped in white on pink card layered on to white and it's all finished off with some pink adhesive pearls at the corners. Very easy but a cute card all the same, of course you could do exactly the same thing in blue if the baby in question is a boy.
