Embossed Metal Heart Valentine Card

We have had packs of craft foil in stock for quite a while, this is the first time I have had chance to play with them. I die cut, embossed, colored and sanded the foil to create the heart embellishment for this card.

I have called it a Valentine card but you could do the same thing with any shape for any kind of card. The foil comes in a range of colours which all have silver on the reverse side, I wanted the heart to be red and silver so when I die cut and embossed it I was careful to make sure that the little hearts were raised on the silver side. If you are die cutting and embossing always die cut first, if not, the die cutting will flatten out your embossing.
I coloured the whole of the heart with a red Pro Marker pen taking care not to flatten any of the embossed hearts. I then gently sanded the raised areas of the heart to remove the red ink and reveal the silver foil.
The rest of the card is very straightforward, starting with a 12cm square white card blank, layered with red card and a die cut decorative square of kraft card. I used a white Gelly Roll pen to make the faux stitching around the die cut shape, stamped the message and tied a metal heart charm into a bakers twine bow. Silver self adhesive Metals at each corner finished it off.

The foil was easy to work with and created a unique embellishment for this card, I hope you like it and look forward to hearing your comments.
