Butterfly and Burlap Hand Made Birthday Card

I love this burlap ribbon it gives such a rustic feel to things and is bang on trend at the moment. I started with a kraft card blank which seemed to fit with the rustic feel of the card. I used a sheet of woodgrain paper from one of our Christmas pads for the background and inked the edges with brown ink. I cut a length of the burlap/hessian ribbon as wide as the background paper and a length of embroidered lace the same size, these were layered up and topped with brown super sheer ribbon tied in a bow. I used a brown wooden butterfly to the top portion of the card and decorated that with gold adhesive metal gems.

The greeting is stamped in brown on a strip of the woodgrain paper cut into a pennant shape and inked around the edges.
