Birthday Blossoms Daffodils to Celebrate March Birthdays.

Here's my "host of golden daffodils" to celebrate March birthdays.

Quilled daffodil birthday card

These daffodils are made using six quilled marquise shapes in yellow 3mm quilling paper, with a tightly coiled centre in a darker shade of yellow, the leaves are just folded strips of green quilling paper.

The daffodils are mounted on a white card frame made using the Marianne Frame and Swirls set. The sentiment is a Gold Small Text peel off mounted on a shape cut using a die from the Marianne Tags and Ticket set, it is decorated with self adhesive pearls.

The sentiment and flowers are both mounted on pink card embossed with the Swirls Embossing Folder and the Yellow Stripes design background paper is the free to download.

Cardio Majestix Golden Daffodils stamped birthday card

My second daffodil card is made using the Cardio Majestix Golden Daffodils stamp set with Canary and Moss Green pigment inks, Olive Pastel Fluid Chalk ink and Scattered Straw distress ink. I cut three squares of white card at 11, 9 and 7cm and three squares of green card at 7.5, 9.5 and 11.5cm.

To begin with I layered just the white card using some double sided tape to keep it in position. I stamped the daffodils and leaves from the top left corner down across the three layers of card.

I trimmed a 12.5cm square white blank card down to 12cm square and then layered the white and green card on top of it,  using 1mm adhesive foam pads to stick the last green layer to add some dimension.

I finished it off with a Gold Happy Birthday greeting and a butterfly die cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Joycrafts Three Butterflies Die Set. I love using these Cardio Majestix stamps and the Acrylic Stamping Rods certainly make them easy to use.

Hand made birthday card with die cut daffodils

Another daffodil card this time made using a Daffodil die cutting set. I cut the main daffodil die twice, once in green and once in yellow and cut the flower heads off the yellow one and glued them over the green ones. I used a marker pen to add some shading to the flower heads, leaves and stems. I also used a Clear Wink of Stella pen to add some subtle glitter to the flower heads which doesn't really show up in the photo. I left some of the leaves partially unglued allowing them to curl up and add a little dimension to the card.

I die cut a flourish from the same green card and adhered that and the flowers to an A6 Kraft card blank, I finished it off with a copper colored Happy Birthday peel off.

I hope you like them, thanks for looking in.
