Hand MadeThinking of You Card with Distress Oxide Background

Hi Everyone, here's my second go with the Distress Oxide ink pads, after my first go I wanted to be a bit bolder, go for stronger colors and play with the inks a little bit more.

Four colors this time, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber and Wilted Violet, I did the same as last time, smeared some of each ink onto my craft mat but this time I put down more ink and added less water so the colors have come out much stronger. I followed the same process of dragging the card through the wet ink and dipping and 'paddling' it into the individual colors and drying between each application with a heat gun. Before I dried each layer I put some water in the palm of my hand and used my fingers to flick it onto the card, this creates the lighter 'spots', dabbing them with an absorbent cloth makes them appear lighter still.

Hand made thinking of you card with distress oxide ink background and stamped fairies and dragonflies

Once the final drying was finished I trimmed the background down to 11.5 cm square and stamped the grass border, fairies, dragonflies and greeting with black ink. The whole thing is mounted on a 12cm square piece of black card and then a 12.5cm square white card blank.

These are almost the same color inks as the last card but adding the Wilted Violet and keeping them more concentrated has created a completely different look. I'm very happy with the results and looking forward to my next experiment :) Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too feel free to leave a comment to let me know what you think or ask any questions you might have.
