Birthday Blossoms Daisies to Celebrate April Birthdays Part 2

In part 1 of this months Birthday Blossoms post I used the Stampendous Daisy Thanks clear stamp set to make one of the cards and announced that we will be giving one away this week to a lucky winner. Scroll down to find out how you can have the chance to win.

In the meantime here is another card made with that stamp, I went for a different style of card and this time used all of the main stamp and made a decorative strip with the butterfly stamp that is also part of the set.

Hand made stamped and inked daisy birthday card.

I started with a 14.75 x 14.75cm square blank card and envelope, layered that with dark green card and on top of that a layer of paper from a Vintage paper pad. I cut a strip of card 14 x 3.5cm inked it all over with Tea Dye distress ink and randomly stamped the butterfly in Vintage Sepia all over it.

I cut a piece of white card 9.75 x 13.25cm and stamped the group of daisies in black ink. I colored the flower centers with a dark mustard marker pen and the stems with dark green, I left the petals white. I inked around the edges of the card and the stamped image, mounted it on dark green card and wrapped dark green sheer ribbon around it and tied a bow. The whole thing was adhered to the left side of the card as shown in the photo.

I stamped the greeting in black on a strip of white card, trimmed the ends to points, inked all around attached this across the flower stems using foam mounting pads. A few adhesive gold metals finished it off.

For the fourth and last card in the daisy series I wanted something brighter and more springlike, and something that will appeal to those of you who are not fond of a lot of stamping and inking 😉.
I think these paper daisies on the bright green background do the job perfectly.

handmade birthday card with paper daisies and embossed background

I used a white A6, tent fold, blank card for the base, cut the bright green card slightly smaller embossed it with the daisy and swirl pattern and adhered it to the card. I cut a strip of hessian ribbon and adhered it across the centre of the card.

For the daisies I used two sizes of Petaloo Paintable flowers, leaving them white but adding yellow self adhesive candies to the centers, you probably can't see in the photo but the candies have a subtle sparkly effect which looks gorgeous when they catch the light. The leaves are die cut from the same bright green card as the background and the greeting is stamped onto a small strip of white card and adhered onto the hessian as shown. Quick and easy to put together but a pretty card all the same.

  5. Love this last card! The colors definately say, "spring". White daisies are my favorite & happen to be the official flower for a women's club I belong too so I use a lot of daisy stamps.
