Cardio Majestix Dragonfly Garden Handmade Birthday Card

I love working with these little stamps, there are so many things you can do with them and they are very forgiving it's usually quite easy to cover up small mistakes :) Once you have the right mix of colors you can just stamp away and create whatever shape you want.

Cardio Majestix Dragonfly Garden Handmade Birthday Card

I cut and scored white linen card to make the base, I like the way the linen finish makes the stamping look slightly distressed.

The Dragonfly Garden stamp set contains two hydrangea flowers, one daisy flower, two leaf stamps and a dragonfly. I used a dark orange and a yellow for the hydrangea flowers a dark red for the daisies and a light green for the leaves, and clustered these in a band around the top two thirds of the card.

The happy birthday greeting is stamped with a watermark ink pad and heat embossed with gold onto a vellum strip. I stamped some of the flowers and foliage onto the ends of the vellum strip to give them a stronger color. I used adhesive foam pads to adhere the vellum strip across the stamped area as shown to lift it slightly from the stamping underneath.

The finishing touch is a dragonfly stamped in gold in the bottom right corner of the card.

I really like this card and it would be easy to change it up with different ink colors. Hope you like it too, I'm looking forward to your comments.

  1. So pretty Deb's, love the delicate colours with the flowers. The happy birthday is a really nice font and looks a decent size stamp. X
