Gatefold Mothers Day Card with Flowers and Lace

Hi Everyone, hope you are having a good day. Here's another Mothers Day card, I decided to make a gatefold card for a change which also gave me chance to try out this gorgeous Sue Wilson die set called Caelum.

Gatefold Mothers Day Card with Flowers and Lace

Gatefold Mothers Day Card with Flowers and Lace Inside

Start with a piece of white card 12 x 24cm, score and fold it at 6cm from each end to form the gatefold shape. Die cut each end of the card with the fancy edging die.

Cut two pieces of peach coloured card 3.5 x 12cm and adhere to the front panels, cut two 12cm lengths of white lace and adhere them down the centre of the peach panels.

Cut a 12 x 12cm piece of patterned paper for the inside of the card, I used a subtle honeycomb design paper but you could use the same peach card that you used on the front. Die cut a dark peach oval shape and a smaller oval shape from white card, stamp and heat emboss the Mothers Day greeting in silver in the white oval then layer that onto the peach oval and adhere the whole thing to the inside of the card.

Trim the stems off 5 peach coloured paper flowers, group 3 of them on one side of the front with a silver foil leaf, one on the other side of the front again with a foil leaf and one inside next to the greeting also with a foil leaf.

Cut a length of silver/grey satin ribbon approx. 30cms long, thread the ends through either side of the cut out design on the front and tie in a bow. Ribbon, lace, flowers, intricate die cutting and a pastel colour scheme all make up a very pretty Mothers Day card made a bit more unusual by the gatefold shape. I think this one will be going to my Mum in Law, hope she likes it and I hope you do too. Thanks for reading.

    1. Thank you Catherine, I was going to put green leaves with the flowers but the silver just made it seem a bit more elegant. Glad you like it :)
