Hi everyone, Mothers Day in the UK is on March 11th this year so I thought I had better get cracking with a few Mothers Day cards. After all the ink that's been around for the stencilled cards I thought I would go for some dry embossing as a complete contrast. I created a slightly different effect by embossing a piece of foil along with the card. Decorated with ribbon and paper roses it's the perfect Mothers Day recipe!
Start with a white A6 blank card, cut a piece of purple card a few mm smaller and a strip of foil about 4cm wide and the same height as the purple card. Lay the foil on top of the purple card leaving a 1cm border on the left hand side, carefully put the card and foil in the embossing folder and run through your machine. Both the card and foil should have the embossed pattern. Use double sided tape to attach this panel to the card front.
Cut a rectangle of white card approx 2 x 7cm and a piece of purple card a few mm smaller, layer these two together, stick the peel off sentiment on top and use adhesive foam pads to attach this to the bottom portion of the card across the foil panel.
Die cut a couple of silver leaf fronds, make a double bow of sheer ribbon and use a bamboo skewer or something similar to curl the wire stems of the paper roses. Arrange these elements to cover the left hand end of the sentiment strip. If you are not sure how to make a double bow it's really easy I learned from this video
There you have it, not a drop of ink to be seen! I like the way embossing the card and foil together makes the pattern continuous. Hope you like it too, please leave a comment below to let me know what you think. Thanks for reading.
