I decided to go the whole hog and make a shaker card, they are so popular for Christmas designs.
I thought this would be a great card for a male recipient.
Start with a 5 x 7 inch white blank card, layer that with black card and cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than the black card.
Die cut an oval aperture in the patterned paper, put the empty oval shaker dome inside the aperture and position the paper on the card. Holding the shaker dome in place, carefully remove the patterned paper and mark the position of the shaker dome with a pencil.
Die cut an oval piece of patterned paper with a star design the same size as the shaker dome, using the dome as a guide position and adhere this to the black card. Die cut a reindeer from gold card, adhere to the oval patterned paper and add a small pile of gold stars. Glue round the rim of the shaker dome and using the patterned paper as a guide, position the shaker dome and adhere the patterned paper over it. Once the card is finished place a book or something similar on top of the shaker dome for and hour or two to make sure that it sticks perfectly.
To finish the card die cut holly and berries from black and gold card and a greeting from black card, glue the holly to the top right hand corner and the greeting underneath the shaker dome.
I always like shaker cards so this is a winner for me straight away, and the colour scheme is just a little bit different. Thank you for reading, I hope you like it and would appreciate hearing your comments if you have time.
