Here's a gatefold valentine card, totally inspired by Jennifer McGuire I am in awe of her work! So I liked this idea and wanted to do something similar.
I'm afraid mine is a poor version but here it is for you anyway.
I cut a piece of pink card 21 x 14cm and scored it 5.25cm in from either side to create the "gates", fold these gates down and use a bone folder to flatten the crease.
I die cut a filagree heart from black card then used the same die to cut half a heart shape form one of the gates by positioning the die halfway over the edge of the card, then fold the gates down and position the die over the cut out area but tape it to the other gate to cut the second half heart.
Again holding the gates down position the black heart inside the heart shaped cut out and glue in place, you might need to make some tiny pencil marks to help you with the positioning but you can erase these once the heart is in place.
I embossed the gates one at a time, do this after the die cutting otherwise your embossing will get flattened when it passes through the machine.
I hand cut a piece of vellum into and arrow shape and stamped the greeting on it with white ink and decorated the heart with some adhesive crystals. When I die cut the black heart the negative parts of the cut out include some small heart shapes, I adhered two of these to the front of the card.
Thanks for visiting, hope you like it.
