I like to make something in a different style occasionally and wanted to make a valentine card with a vintage feel, after all it was during Victorian times that the sending of Valentine cards became a tradition.
The only time consuming part of the card is printing the parchment with the script but you could use a ready made paper instead to save time.
I started with a square cream card blank and cut a slightly smaller piece of pink card, I threaded a length of velvet ribbon through the loop on a matching tassel and adhered this to the left side of the pink card tucking the ends of the ribbon underneath for a neat finish, and then adhered the pink card to the base.
I die cut a scalloped circle from parchment vellum and a plain circle of pink card slightly smaller to go on top of it.
I made the parchment script paper on the computer, I used Microsoft Word to select a suitable font, size and color and fill an A4 size page with appropriate words and phrases, save and print on to parchment vellum. Die cut a heart shape from the printed vellum ink the edges of the heart shape and the scalloped circle with black ink and glue in to position.
Trim the stems off three pink paper roses and glue to the edge of the heart, add pink adhesive pearls to the other side of the heart and a vintage style gemstone to the velvet ribbon.
The words on the printed heart convey the message so I didn't add any further greeting.
I hope you like it and look forward to your comments.
