Hand Made Christmas Card with Grosgrain Bow, Stamped Greeting and Matching Envelope

Hi Everyone, time for another Christmas card. My intention was to make a card that would be quick and easy for those occasions when you need to make a card in a hurry, I managed to make a mess of the stamping twice and had to re-tie the bow about 10 times to get it right, so assuming your skills are better than mine you will find this card can be made in a very short time 😉

Hand made Christmas card with grosgrain bow, stamped greeting and matching envelope

The card blank is a A6 cream. Cut a piece of patterned paper and a piece of cream card, join them with some adhesive tape and trim them to be about half a centimetre smaller than the card blank.

Cut a length of co-ordinating grosgrain ribbon, wrap it round the pieces of card to conceal the join and tie a bow on the front positioned to the left side. If the weight of the bow makes it sag slightly pop a glue dot behind the knot to hold it in place.

Stamp the greeting on the cream portion of the card, above the ribbon and to the right side. Stamp it  in gold ink and heat emboss it with gold embossing powder.

Attach the completed panel to the front of the card with double sided tape and there you have it!

As the card is very simple I decided to make a lined envelope to match, trace round your envelope (with the flap open) on the patterned paper, cut out the shape, trim about 3mm off either side and 1.5cm off the bottom so that the liner will slide into the card easily and leave the adhesive area clear. Carefully close the envelope flap to fold the liner in the correct position then add double sided tape to the back of the liner on the flap and fix it in place.

A great card which could be made in any colour scheme and used for any occasion with the added extra of a matching envelope. Thank you for reading, I hope you like it, please take a moment to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
