Embossed Foil Valentine Card with Miniature Envelopes and Die Cut Hearts

Hi everyone, here's my third Valentine card for this year, with an unusual look created by the embossed foil. Simple colours and embellishments don't overcrowd the foil design. The photo isn't very good as the foil reflected the camera when I got any closer!

Embossed Foil Valentine Card with Miniature Envelopes and Die Cut Hearts

Start with a sheet of silver craft foil, all the colours in the Spellbinders assorted pack are silver on the reverse so choose the colour you like least and use the back of it. Emboss the design in the centre of the foil sheet and trim the edges off to 10.5 x 15cm. Cut a piece of red card 11 x 15.5cm and a piece of white card 16 x 23cm, score the white card down the centre and fold to create the card base, adhere the red card and the foil to the base using double sided tape.

To make the little envelopes cut two pieces of white paper to 2.4 x 4.5cm, mark each piece longways at 1.5cm intervals and fold the outsides in. Mark the centre point at each end of the strip and cut diagonally to create the flaps, glue the flaps together but don't press them down flat to give them extra shape and dimension.

To make the hearts, die cut a Lacy Heart from red card. This has various cut out hearts inside it, glue one of these small hearts to each of the envelopes, save the lacy heart for later use. Use a thin adhesive foam pad to adhere the envelopes to the foil background in the top and bottom frames.

Stamp the message in black ink on a piece of white card. When the ink is dry, adhere this to red card and hand trim around the edges to leave a narrow margin. Use the same adhesive foam pads to attach this across the centre frame on the embossed foil.

I love the look of the embossed foil on this card, I need to use foil more often!! I hope you like it, please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading
Debbie x
