Hand Made Notecard with Mermaid and Shells

Hi Everyone, continuing my under the sea theme, this card uses another stamped and die cut mermaid, on a stamped and inked background along with some real shells that I collected on the beach. It's a cute, fun card that could be used for many occasions. I stamped the 'Just a note to say' greeting on the front but left the inside blank for now, I will put something suitable inside when I have an occasion to use the card.

Hand Made Notecard with Mermaid and Shells

Start with a white 12.5cm blank card, cut a piece of plain white card 12cm sq, stamp this with the Rolling Waves background stamp using the Pool to Navy ombre ink pad (with these larger background stamps I find it easier to ink up the stamp and then press the card on to it). When the ink is dry use a foam blending tool to ink all over with Tumbled Glass distress ink, adhere the panel to the card blank using double sided tape.
Cut a piece of Kraft card stock to 12cm wide, using a curved border die cut one edge to form the sandy bottom of the ocean. Stamp and heat emboss the greeting on this in white and use double sided tape to adhere it to the bottom part of the background panel.

Stamp, colour and die cut a mermaid and adhere to the card front with adhesive foam pads to add some dimension. Die cut three fronds of seaweed from marble paper and adhere in a cluster, leaving the fronds unglued so that they look as though they are waving around. Adhere a cluster of shells, below the seaweed, by layering up adhesive foam pads in the hollow part of the shell.

Finish the card off with a tropical fish embellishment, a crystal cluster and whatever greeting you want to add to the inside of the card.

I like this card, although it is fairly simple there are lots of different textures and effects. I hope you like it too. Thank you for reading and if you have time please leave a comment to let me know what you think. I have linked to the supplies used below.
